The Happy Wheels program was founded in the spring of 1999 serving patients at MUSC Children’s Hospital in Charleston, S.C. Every Thursday of the week, volunteers push a cart loaded with new toys and books around the hospital’s inpatient floors, letting each child pick his or her favorite. Each gift is valued from $8-$16. So to keep the cart filled and rolling takes lots of donations and volunteers. Each child receives one new book or toy each week for as long as they stay in the hospital.
Wonder Works is proud to serve this incredible program year round to uplift the spirits of all the patients at MUSC Children’s Hospital.
In 2010, with the help of the late Harper Drolet, Wonder Works raised over 7,000 toys for the Happy Wheels cart with their “Week of Wonder” Facebook campaign. With the help of Wonder Works’ incredible vendors, for every like the Wonder Works page received, Wonder Works donated a toy to the Happy Wheels cart.
Wonder Works continues to donate toys and raise money in honor of Harper and to put smiles on the faces of all of the children at MUSC Children’s Hospital.
